About the University of Central Asia

The University of Central Asia (UCA) was founded in 2000 as a private, not for profit, secular university through an International Treaty signed by the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and His Late Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV; ratified by their respective parliaments and registered with the United Nations. The Presidents are the Patrons of the University and His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V is the Chancellor.  UCA’s mission is to promote the social and economic development of Central Asia, particularly its mountain communities, by offering an internationally recognised standard of higher education and becoming a leading research university in the region and internationally. UCA’s School of Professional and Continuing Education
Tekeli, Kazakhstan

The University of Central Asia’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE) in Tekeli is one of the region’s leading centres for adult, vocational, and lifelong learning. Established in 2006 after a major reconstruction of the former 1973 “universal shop” building, the Tekeli centre has grown into a vibrant educational hub offering high‑quality, short‑cycle programmes designed to strengthen employability and open new career pathways.

SPCE Tekeli provides a diverse portfolio of courses, including English, Russian, and Kazakh language programmes, Information Technology, entrepreneurship, career‑planning training, and mathematics, enabling learners to gain practical skills relevant to the modern labour market. These programmes are intentionally short, targeted, and industry‑aligned—helping both young people and adults acquire new competencies or transition into new professions.

The centre is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art learning technologies, a computer laboratory, multiple classrooms, and a 17,305‑volume library, making it one of the best‑resourced continuing‑education facilities in the region.
